都内でも同時出店＆改装で勢いが停まらない感のあるユニクロですが、パリの一等地オペラ座にも出店しましたね。総面積約2150平方メートル。651坪。グローバル大型店ですから、このくらいの売り場面積が無いとインパクトが無いのでしょうね。デザインは、Wonderwallの片山正通さん。入場制限が掛かったほど盛況だったようですが、それ以上に伝統と格式のあるオペラ座近くに日本のファストファッションがメガストアをつくった訳ですから、現地のリテーラーの方達の注目度が高いのも頷けますね。

日本より景況感の悪いフランスですから、品質の高いファストファッションは歓迎なのでしょうけど、リテーラーは冷ややかに見ている部分もあるようです。今回のパリ・オペラ店では、グローバルラウンチイベントとして、モード寄りのブランディングを意識したジルサンダーとのコラボ（+J）を同時スタートさせていますが、これも一気に認知させたい思惑が見えますね。ちなみに、+Jは日本でも一部の大型店とECで販売されています。

Set to be named Paris Opera Store, a reference to the historical Palais Garnier (or commonly known as Paris Opera House) across the street, architect Masamichi Katayama and his firm Wonderwall will completely revamp the interior into a multi-level store, complete with a grand staircase and skylight.  Measured at 23,000 square-feet, the store will be one of the largest existing Uniqlo stores.  Plans for opening are to coincide with the global launch of new Jil Sander for Uniqlo on the 1st of October 2009.
